God's Work. Our Hands. September 11-13, 2015: Raising the Roof!
The St. Mark's Lutheran Church family joined ELCA congregations all over the US, over the weekend of September 11-13, to perform acts of service to their communities. This year's project for St. Mark's was the building of a mobile homeless shelter, to benefit a local mission organization. Over the weekend, the hands of close to 30 volunteers sawed, hammered, painted, and measured, cooked and served lunches, cut, wove, and crocheted plastic bags into mats, and connected with each other while serving God, doing His work. Funded by grants from Thrivent Financial, this bold project was a labor of love, and one we hope will continue as we move forward.
